Haiku Garden go to Dvocikel residence with DJ/producer Dulash!

A series of music projects called “Dvocikel” has been up and running since 2014. It is a one-week musical residence, that host two different music formations at the Layer House residence center, followed by two concerts at Kranj and Ljubljana. Concerts take place in non-concert venues, allow musicians to prepare new sound materials, test themselves in collaboration with producers, record new material, improve stage performances, etc. Dvocikel offers musicians the ideal conditions to work continuously, work with experienced producers, and explore music and collaborate between individuals, bands and producers. Dvocikel listeners attend concerts of different formats, which break the monotony of the musical offer.

This year’s edition of the Dvocikel project features shoegazers Haiku Garden from Ljubljana and DJ / producer Dulash aka Stefan Cerjak.
The home chefs Haiku Garden will carefully mix their dreamy melodies spiced up by the harshness of percussive guitars, while Dulash will salt the audio image with electronic inputs. In doing so, they promise a very special Haiku Goulash!
You can try your new favourite recipe on October 12 at Škrlovec Tower @ Layer House. Free entry!

HAIKU GARDEN (SI)

They play loud and noisy guitar music with a touch of pop, and are supported live by dreamy, yet mesmerizing visuals. They have performed in length and across: Austria, Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Poland, etc., including gigs at festivals at Moscow Music Week and Liverpool Sound City. They opened for bands such as SUUNS and The Jesus & Mary Chain at Kino Šiška. The single ‘Rosetta’ from the “Waver” EP was even selected as Song of the Day on Seattle’s KEXP radio.

The first full-length album Where If Not Now, released last year by KAPA Records, has received a number of great reviews at home and abroad. Among other things, it was selected as the home record of the year in the magazine Mladina, and landed on the Muzika.hr portal the second best album from the ex-yu region. For the Izštekani (“Unplugged”) edition at Val 202, they adapted and rearranged their standard repertoire into an acoustic version. They even included a string quintet and a trumpet player. The broadcast was followed by well-received acoustic concerts and a digital live album of the unplugged show is coming soon.
